Christ Church Ministry Centre
Christ Church Ministry Centre is a key resource as we aim to share Jesus with everyone beginning with our community.
Opened in June 2010 by the Bishops of Liverpool and of Virginia, the Ministry Centre took two years to build after 12 years of preparation. (There lies a story!).
And the Ministry Centre is what it says it is, a resource for ministry and not just to be used by our church family. The Centre is used by our young people and Lyfe groups mid week as well as events for the U3A and local community.
A key part of our Ministry Centre is the remarkable first-floor Cafe Vista, which can be easily accessed by lift. It is open to everyone, not just church members, from Tuesday’s to Fridays, 10.30 to 3.30 pm Tuesday to Friday. Staffed by volunteers, Cafe Vista serves lunch and light refreshments. We also offer catering facilities to funeral parties following the church service.
The Ministry Centre consists of a large hall with full audio-visual facilities. This can be divided into two self-contained units. Situated on the ground floor along with the toilets are the church office and a small meeting room as well as the breath-taking foyer.
Cafe Vista is situated on the first floor along with one large meeting room (which can be divided into two equal sections) and a smaller meeting room, which is regularly used as a café overflow.
We encourage other churches and Christian groups to use the centre, and to take full advantage of its location overlooking the farmland of the West Lancashire plain.
There is a large car park alongside the Ministry Centre while the centre is easily accessed by public transport. The 311 bus stop is adjacent to the church site while Aughton Park railway station is 700m along Long Lane.
The running of the Ministry Centre is overseen by Vicky Sime. If you wish to hire the Ministry Centre for any event, she is the person to contact
